Some might call Brenda Lynn Mislan a late bloomer. She wrote her first novel at age 71, several years after retiring as an elementary teacher of 28 years. She always had a joy of reading and writing; a joy she shared with her students. Writing and sharing their creativity was always a part of each day, Her goal upon retirement was to write.
Her first book was "Duncan's Dream," the first of the MacQuay series. There are five MacQuay siblings. Once Duncan's story was told, she knew that each MacQuay had a tele to share. "Darin's Dilemma" is the second in the series. Not bad for a late bloomer; two novels in one year and more in the works. For those readers who have been charmed by youngest brother, Rafe, watch for "Rafe's Reckoning."
Brenda would love to hear from her readers. She can be reached via e-mail at blmislan@comcast.net or on her Facebook fan page, Brenda Lynn Mislan. You can expect a response from her.
Brenda Lynn lives in Annapolis, Maryland with her husband, Tom and two adorable muses who curl up on the couch when she writes. Polly is a sweet little Westie and Bentley a precocious miniature schnauzer. Her three sons, Scott, Darin and Jason, live nearby and encourage her writing with pride.
