Reclining in a yurt on the Asian steppe after passing miles of obsolete Soviet surveillance antennas made me wonder--at least for a moment or two--what could possibly take me this far from the comforts of home? People still ask me that question. My path has led me under the shadow of the Great Pyramid, along an inhospitable lake shore near Mt. Ararat and to sidewalk coffee shops nestled among gleaming European skyscrapers. Sure, adventure always beckons, but there's something else. A simple image takes me back to the days of Jesus: go everywhere, seek the lost sheep of Abraham. They aren't forgotten, even those who don't necessarily feel themselves lost. Following the Good Shepherd, I'm one of those on a journey to find something lost...then bring it home.
