I describe myself as a maverick and I love my freedom. I dare to live the life I’ve dreamed for myself. I have gone forward and made my dreams come true. (Quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson).
Life is about taking chances and I have no constraints. Taking chances have allowed me to grow and expand, and experience new endeavors and savor the many opportunities life has to offer. I cannot stand still; I’m afraid if I were to, I would perish mentally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually. Standing still or doing nothing is definitely not for me.
I love being around family, friends, and strangers -- those who love to laugh, who love people -- and enjoy all that this wonderful life has in store for each of us. The world is a melting pot of many things and I love having conversations about what is happening in our world.
I’ve done many things on a whim and list a few here:
•rode a bicycle 330 miles from NC to DC in the DC Aids Ride
•played in the World Series of Poker for Women
•finished the More Magazine “Marathon for Women over 40″ at age 55
•took a three-week vacation of a lifetime to Down Under
I am a 2002 Living Kidney Donor to a twelve-year old boy, whom I have met and both our families stay in touch.
My two furry children, Paco and Princess, 14-year-old Lhasa Apsos, are the center of my universe
