Stephanie Joyce Cole lived for decades in Alaska, and now lives on Bainbridge Island, Washington, in a household that includes a husband, a predatory but lovable Manx cat, and a standard poodle named Rusty who is in perpetual motion.
Stephanie has a law degree from UCLA and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Alaska, Anchorage. Since 1986, she has been associated with Alaska Quarterly Review (AQR), an award-winning literary magazine, where she is currently a Senior Affiliate Editor.
When she's not writing, she's hiking, creating ceramics, traveling, volunteering and discovering new ways to have fun—and of course, reading, reading, reading.
“My goal was to write books that are entertaining and also thought-provoking, stories that will carry readers into an adventure in small-town Alaska.”
