Lea (Eleta) Sucsy teaches, lives and writes in Gainesville, Florida. She is a birder, a clogger, and a folk musician who plays music for contra dances. She grew up in Florida, earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from Emory University, and continued living in Atlanta until she hiked the Appalachian Trail. After walking from Georgia to Maine, she stayed and earned a M.S. in wildlife management from the University of Maine. She belongs to the Writers Alliance of Gainesville, and SCBWI, the Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
