Hamish Scott was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1960 and now lives in East Lothian.
His poetry in Scots has been published in numerous outlets and collected in five editions:
'Kennins' (2013), 'Scotlan's Richt: Thirteen poems anent the 2014 independence referendum' (2014), 'Wirds for the day' (2015), 'Tuk-tuks' (2018) and 'Short an lang' (2020).
In 2015 he won the Wigtown Scots Prize for poetry.
