Jill Vance

Jill Vance worked as a ghost writer for many years before deciding the constraints of only writing about plots and characters chosen by others was too limiting. In 2013 she wrote the first book under her own name, The Other Side of the Door which is a collection of short stories with a twist in the tale.

Her next project, a book of children’s fables entitled A Diary of Bedtime Stories, was originally destined to be a ghost writing project, but misunderstandings allowed Jill to keep this and publish it herself. Luckily her partner Lou Pizzi is an artist so he drew the illustrations, allowing Jill to have a finished product she could also publish under her own name.

Combining a love of writing and cooking, Jill also produced a cookery book of Italian recipes, Authentic, Easy Italian Meals for Any Occasion in 2014.

Towards the end of 2014 Jill published her second book of short stories with a twist, Dark between Shadows.

This was closely followed (1st January 2015) by a longer single short story called Wrapped With Thorns.

This started life as a short story to be included in Dark between Shadows. However, as she wrote it, the story took on a life all its own and kept growing. It grew to the point it was too long to be included in the book and at that point it became a complete story all on its own.

Jill then published her second book of A Diary of Bedtime Stories, Week 2 for children, along with a Christmas Special.

She has since added another collection of short stories, 'Nothing in the Mirror' and more novellas, all in the mystery, thriller categories.

Jill loves writing, and by keeping her stories short she can use the imagination she had to keep bottled up as a ghost writer to create a vast range of situations and intrigues.

Born in Great Britain, Jill has lived most of her adult life in Italy where she met her Italian partner Lou Pizzi. She loves writing, cooking, sport, animals, horses, travel, music, art and books.
