Mr Koz Mraz

Gary Koz Mraz is an author, educator, award-winning music producer, and veteran moto-journalist whose travels have taken him across multiple continents and countless miles of back roads, forgotten highways, and remote landscapes.

Raised in an unconventional world of mysticism, counterculture, music, and adventure, Koz had anything but a conventional childhood. Surrounded by beatniks and hippie chicks, Psychedelics at thirteen, motorcycles and metaphysics at fifteen, travel and adventure became his mantra. Those early experiences shaped not only his worldview and writing, but also a wide-ranging career in sound and storytelling.

His work as a composer and producer has appeared in films and commercials, earning him a 2005 Grammy nomination in the Surround Sound category, the 2002 Communicator Surround Award, and the 2001 Discus Award in the 5.1 category. For more than fifteen years, he taught music production, audio engineering, and broadcast technology as a college professor, helping a new generation of creators develop their technical skills and artistic voices.

As a moto and photojournalist, Koz wrote and photographed more than 200 feature stories, capturing the people, places, and experiences that exist beyond the boundaries of ordinary life.

Koz describes his storytelling style as “faction”: part fact, part fiction, all adventure. Drawing from decades of travel, investigation, and firsthand encounters with people and places most never experience, he creates stories that blur the line between what is known, what is possible, and what may be waiting just beyond the next bend in the road.

He lives by a simple belief: the future belongs to the dreamers.
