Brad Evans is Associate Professor of English at Rutgers University, where he teaches courses on 19th and 20th century American literature and culture. A specialist in cultural theory and the history of anthropology, he has also co-produced the restoration of the Edward Curtis silent feature film, In the Land of the Head Hunters (1914; 2008). He has recently begun work on two new projects, one an extension of previous work on the anthropologist Franz Boas in relation to the philosophical tradition of American pragmatism, and the other a new book titled Relational Aesthetics in Art and Literature that asks, simply, what are relations and how have they been figured artistically?
