Raymond D Schrab

Raymond Schrab (1951-) was born in rural Wisconsin and raised on a farm. In 1969 he graduated with his class of 40 from Hustisford High School and became the stereotypical hapless hayseed at the University of Wisconsin during a time of campus upheaval and unrest. He studied physics (got nowhere), calculus (got to systems of differential equations), and creative writing and English literature (loved Chaucer, hated Milton and got an F on that paper). Four confusing years later he found himself with a degree in accounting from UW-Oshkosh. A trip with a friend to war-torn Nicaragua in April 1980 became the inspiration for his first novel "Dutch Schultz and the Gold of Quilali", which was given Honorable Mention for the 2013 Edna Ferber Award for Book-Length Fiction.
