Jack and Rita Stout moved to Anchorage from Southern California in 1954. They moved on to a remote homestead in 1957 where they lived for the next 5 years along with the bears and moose. This was living on the frontier as much as our early pioneers had. They walked everywhere, carrying their children on their backs. This self reliance continued for the rest of their life exposing them to many opportunities to face Mother Nature.. They still live in Anchorage looking for new adventures to enjoy.
