Wallace and Evelyn Shellenberger ended their medical careers in 2001 to live and study for four years in Iran. They were leaders of several learning tour groups to Iran and have spoken to more than 350 audiences in North America about their experiences in Iran. They are currently retired in Paoli, Indiana. They attend the Paoli Mennonite Fellowship, have two children and five grandchildren and share a duplex with their son and his family.
Shortly after arriving in Iran a woman challenged the Shellenbergers: “Aren’t the Iranians enemies of the Americans? Why did you choose to live with your enemies?” This book, WELCOME TO IRAN, opens to you this challenge of being where you are not expected.
