Peter Welmerink

Peter Welmerink was born and raised on the west side of Grand Rapids, Michigan. As there were woods by his parent’s house, and the sprawling John Ball Park Zoo only a block away, and the boondocks which ran along the southwest side of town between Grand Rapids, Walker and Grandville, Peter had many adventures out of doors to spark his expansive imagination. A child and early teen in the 70's. A teen and young adult in the 80's, events of those times also molded his imagination.

An avid reader of some of the greats (in his realm of thinking anyway) such an Edgar Rice Burroughs, Robert E Howard, H.P. Lovecraft, RA Salvatore, and David Drake (to name but a few) to comic books ranging from Sgt. Rock to Iron Man, there was a lot of literature to fuel his mind.

Though he has always been writing SOMETHING throughout the years, he first started having material picked up and published in 1997. Mostly short stories in the Sword & Sorcery/High Fantasy genre (his first literary love), he has expanded his love in the craft, writing action-adventure yarns in Military Scifi, Steampunk, and even comic books. His first solo effort was a Military Action-Adventure novel series (with its own version of zombies) entitled TRANSPORT. It was published by Seventh Star Press in 2014.

On a nonfiction front, Peter created #StickonStump in 2018. A stick figure sitting on a stump contemplating life offers motivational, inspirational and positive affirmations on life, love and simply getting through the day. #StickonStump was created to help the author with his own struggles with anxiety and depression. Fans and friends, who also relate, totally love #StickonStump in which the author is humbly grateful.
