I’ve always wanted to be an author—the dream of sitting in a coffee shop and spinning tales of adventure, bravery, adversity and grief, love and friendship, overcoming insurmountable odds, and creating the unimaginable. However, as most of us find out, “Life Interruptist” delayed this dream. Over the years, I obtained a Master of Science in Information Systems, and since I tended to get bored easily, I worked in the private and public sectors, academia, and the ministry field. However, this diverse work life provided me with a wealth of experience that has helped me to understand my characters and the way in which they deal with their trials and tribulations that transform their lives. The formidable process of how some characters fail, and others rise above their expectations, mimic my own personal life.
Fantasy is all about creating characters that are believable and surrounding them in the richness of a world that feels authentic. My greatest joy comes from a Reader connecting with my characters and the world I’ve imagined, as this Reader declared in their Review, “Cruikshank has crafted some wonderful characters to fill his well-realised world, with likeable protagonists, deplorable villains and a supporting cast that are full of surprises. I found myself caring about these characters and wanting to know more about them as the story unfolded."
I hope you also can spend time with me and my characters in a world of the unimaginable, but believable.
