Carmen Herrera

Carmen Herrera is a Spanish teacher at the prestigious Dalton School in NYC. In the past, Carmen has worked at the University, Secondary, and Primary education levels. She loves to teach Spanish language students of all ages and levels. She has a great interest in and passion for developing new ways of teaching languages.

Carmen is the founder of MYLANGUATETOWN.com, a great place to read e-books, listen to audio books, play games and more. Helping her students love the Spanish language is a key driver in all of Carmen's endeavors, from teaching to authoring advanced textbooks and Spanish language readers. Apart from many Spanish readers for students of all levels, she has also authored:

Carmen Herrera has mentored teachers, and spoken at several conferences on topics such as the use of technology for language teaching, the student-centered classroom, and more. Carmen has also worked as a consultant on a number of textbooks from publishers Oxford University Press, EMC and Holt. Carmen loves writing Spanish readers for all levels (from kindergarten to university level) and is involved in several e-learning projects. Her books are innovative and packed with culture and dialogues to help improve the students communication skills.

Carmen is particularly intrigued by the idea of integrating readers, e-games and music into the teaching of language and believes we will be seeing many exciting changes on this front very soon. She believes that students will move more towards this type of learning, and this will help them become independent learners and thinkers while having fun in the process.
