Eulene Watkins

Eulene Watkins was born in the town in which her first novel takes place. She is the oldest of five children. She lived her first five years between Oklahoma and New Mexico, until her parents finally decided New Mexico was home.

She married at the age of 16 and she and her husband, Archie, raised three daughters. When her oldest was 16 or 17-years old, they took in a young woman of the same age. She affectionately calls her, a daughter-in-love.

In November of 2012, Eulene and her husband traveled to Bartlesville, Oklahoma and returned with their 4-year old great grandson. Gaining temporary custody of him, they kept him for 7-months until his mother was able to take care of him again.

Once the child was gone, Eulene found herself at odds with her situation. Not wanting to return to work, she dug out an unfinished novel that had been started 8-years before. Upon reading the contents, she decided it was worth the finishing. The forest fire in the original manuscript was changed to match calendar events with the Wallow Fire, the largest wild fire in Arizona history, which was stopped short, just beyond the town in which she lives.

She has committed to showing the love of God in any novel she writes.

Her only regret at this point is that she hadn't been writing as an occupation all these years. However, to everything there is a time and a place. This is her time, and her place.
