Gerald Kramer is a retired college professor who has held a variety of jobs in his work life including factory worker, clothing salesperson, census taker, and human resource and payroll manager. He's an avid reader of mystery novels and lists Tony Hillerman, Ross MacDonald, and John Straley as favorite authors. He also is a film buff for such film noir films as Double Indemnity, Sunset Boulevard, and Murder My Sweet. His first book (Vanderbilt Reef-Finding Daniel) reflects his admiration of Alaska. His second book (The Dean's List) is based on his knowledge of working on university campuses for more than thirty years.
He recently attended the 2013 Tony Hillerman Writers Conference in Santa Fe and considers this one of his best experiences associated with writing. Next fall he intends to return to the 2014 meeting.
He and his wife Peg are rabid fans of the University of Iowa Hawkeyes football team and have been traveling the eight hour trip to Iowa city since the mid 1970s.
His email address is gkramer1@cox.net, and he welcomes all correspondence from readers and/or other writers.
