Linda Carlson Johnson

Linda Carlson Johnson is both a writer and an editor. Early in her career, she wrote for children at “Weekly Reader” and co–created, with her husband, Lynell, “TIME for Kids,” another school periodical. She has also written books for the school library market. One, a biography of Congresswoman Barbara Jordan, was named to the American Library Association’s list of best books for reluctant readers. As editor–in–chief for The Salvation Army in the Northeast, she founded “Priority!” magazine; a special issue for the 10th anniversary of the Salvation Army’s work following the 9/11 terrorist attacks won an Evangelical Press Association award. To commemorate the Salvation Army’s work at Ground Zero, she also wrote a children’s book on the same topic. During her time at The Salvation Army, Linda edited several books, and she and her husband have continued to do that through their company, The WordWorking Shop. She holds a master’s degree from Hartford Seminary and considers everything she writes and edits as ministry. She hopes that readers of “101 Days of Love” will be inspired to deepen their faith, as she did through writing it.
