Shelley Brock

Shelley Brock is an architect living, teaching and writing in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In addition to designing buildings and spaces, she teaches architecture design studios at the University of San Francisco.

Before settling in Oakland, California, she lived, worked, learned and taught in New York City, Paris, France and Santa Fe, New Mexico.

In December 2010, she began a writing project with Max Jacobson, a teaching colleague and author of several books on architecture. For several years they met weekly over coffee to discuss ideas about how to best convey the essence and complexity of architecture in easy to understand terms for the benefit of students and any one interested. The book, "Invitation to Architecture" is the happy result of these rather spirited and engaging conversations.
