Nan Byrne holds an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and is the author of Bar Stories (Bottom Dog Press), Multicultural Voices in the Classroom (Southern Illinois University Press) and the poetry chapbooks, Wonder City (Plan B Press) and Uncertain Territory (Angelfish Press). Her work has appeared in Michigan Quarterly Review, Seattle Review, Fiction Southeast, Cherry Tree, Borderlands, New Orleans Review, and Filmetry, among others. A former television writer and head of development for two Virginia production companies she has created a multitude of programming for the cable networks including reality, documentary, and true crime series. She currently reads fiction for the Maine Review and is at work on a feature screenplay about Margaret Fuller, an early American feminist.
