A.K.A. Kidney Man is a work from the hearts of the authors Karen LoBello and Judy Voigt. A former student of Karen's, Nick--A.K.A. Kidney Man--required a kidney transplant when he was a student in Karen's 5th grade class. His endearing personality prompted her to always want to write a story about his ordeal. A.K.A. Kidney Man is loosely based on Nick's story.
Judy Voigt and Karen LoBello are sisters and teachers. "The Great PJ Elf Chase" was their debut children's picture book, and it received the following honors:
2014 B.R.A.G. Medallion
2014 Finalist, National Indie Excellence Book Awards
Five-Star Review Recipient, Readers' Favorite
The inspiration for the book was a fun-loving family tradition in which sly elves left brand new pajamas outside the bathroom door each Christmaa Eve. Christmas Eve in the Taylor household wasn't complete without a plan to catch an elf!
