Jane Pearson Grimsrud spent her childhood living in the community of Cloverland located on the shore of Lake Superior in Northern Wisconsin.
Her father was a storyteller and a historian of the area. Jane was always writing letters and helping her father search for the stories of the people who had come before them. She walked the fields of their farm with her father
and he showed her the places where Indians had camped and left behind their arrowheads and knives.
When her father came upon an abandoned homestead with 3 graves marked with crude wooden crosses, Jane and her father had to find the story behind the graves. While in high school, Jane wrote her first book about the history of the people who left the 3 graves of children behind.
Jane has spent her adult life looking for new frontiers. With her husband, John M. Grimsrud, she built a 46 foot sailboat and left the North Country behind and sailed South to a warmer climate.
Jane currently resides with her husband in Mérida, Yucatan, Mexico. Bicycling in Yucatan is her passion. She is co-author with her husband of two book about traveling in Yucatan.
