E A Isola

Elizabeth Isola (1933-2016) was born and grew up in Caribou, Maine. She attended college at the University of Southern Maine, Boston University, Arizona State University (pursuing a double Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Creative Writing), and SUNY, Albany, where she earned a BA in Creative Writing. She and her husband, Anthony Isola, were married in 1969. Elizabeth is survived by two biological children, Jeff and Mark, two adopted children, Joe and Mary, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Elizabeth and Tony also cared for many other children from around the world, including North America, Canada, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Elizabeth for a number of years served as President of the Mesa Art League. She was also a member of the Scottsdale Artists’ League. A painter of wide reputation, she had juried art shows in New York and Ontario, Canada, and has works in collections in Virginia, Ontario, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Arizona, Maine, Massachusetts, England, Germany, and Japan.

She also taught art in a private boarding school and held a number of one-person shows in the US and in Canada.

Liz earned her degree in writing from SUNY when she was 70, and went on to write four major works. Her first published work was a devotional for Paulist Press in Boston, MA, now out of print. This was followed by two self-published novels, My Name Is Aribaal and its sequel, Westward the Gods, The Answer. Both are available via Amazon under the pen name EA Isola. Her last, and most intimate work, was Jamie, available everywhere under the author name, Elizabeth Isola, along with a previous work, The Restless Heart, published this year.
