Cat Michaels

Cat Michaels transitioned from teaching in special eduction classrooms to writing middle grade and chapter books that celebrate curiosity, kindness, and growing independence.

Her children’s books have been recognized for literary excellence by several organizations and are valued for their engaging storytelling and age-appropriate themes. Her chapter book for early readers, "Sweet T and the Turtle Team," has been praised for its classroom-friendly appeal and was even considered for film adaptation.

Since then, Cat has expanded her storytelling to adult fiction, launching the Gull Island Romance series, while continuing her commitment to stories rooted in community, emotional awareness, and connection.

Beyond writing, Cat enjoys creating sidewalk fairy gardens for neighborhood children, capturing everyday moments with her camera, and dreaming about escaping to the beach. Based near Raleigh, North Carolina, she draws inspiration from family, education, and the belief that stories can foster empathy at every stage of life.
