Yorkshire-born Janet Killeen completed her Master's degree in English Literature and then went onto teach in London for over thirty five years. During her teaching career she also gained experience of Counselling and Consultancy training at the Tavistock Institute. Now retired, and living in South-East London, she values friendships, travel and writing.
In the past ten years she began to explore those issues of faith and doubt, time, place and choice that have been developed in her two collections of short stories, 'Recognition' and 'There is a Season'.
She has now written four empowering books for children.
In 2017 she published her first novel ‘After The Flood’ and now the sequel, 'Release the Raven' is to be published, 8th June 2020. The sequel continues the story of Theresa and her family and the transformative events which have made her aware of the significance of the past and its influence on the present. It develops the story of the young man, Tony, whom she met briefly at the end of the first book and explores themes of forgiveness, fanaticism, reparation and reconciliation.
