I grew up with my paternal grandparents on the Saddle Lake Indian Reserve in Treaty No.6 territory in Western Canada, attended Blue Quills Residential School and the Racette School in St. Paul, Alberta, and worked in a bank for 5 and 1/12 years. In high school I read Time Magazine and The Star Weekly and other news magazines. I read about the United Nations and its work of striving for world balance and peace. I then attended the University of Alberta from 1971-72, 1973-1976, and 1978 and received a Bachelor of Education degree. I next worked briefly as a teacher, substitute teacher, and sold encylopedias and household products. I had short term contracts transporting seniors and students on trips in and out of Canada. I attended Blue Quills First Nations College for two semesters. I became a councillor (five 3 year terms) and Chief (one 3 year term) with the Saddle Lake Cree Nation 1989 - 2007. I went to the United Nations in New York City in 1992 and to the UN in Geneva in 1999 and 2000 where I made presentations on Native children apprehensions in Canada and on articles of the draft Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. These presentations are included as appendices in a book I later wrote. I became an Indian Residential School Coordinator and Resolution Health Support Worker from 2007 to the present (2013). In 2012, I self-published a 286page book with the title "Selected Contemporary Native Issues In Canada - Observations Made in the Field". My interest is Indigenous and Government Relations; wellness issues, medical topics; and writing. I intend to write another book on the difficult topic of reconciliation pertaining to the Indigenous people of Canada and the Canadian polity.
