AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY
IN COLOMBIA (South America):
An enthusiast of horses since the age of three.
Graduated with honors from Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Medellín, Colombia) as a “Zoo-technician” (equivalent to a BS in Animal Science) in 1989. His thesis examined the physics of Colombian Paso bits.
After graduation, manager/consultant to over 50 medium to large size Paso horse farms throughout Colombia (South America).
Founder and director of three Paso riding schools in Medellín, two of which are still operating.
Professor of “Producción Equina” (Equine husbandry) at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Medellín, Colombia and at Universidad de Antioquia, Medellín, Colombia.
Writer of the book, Caballo Colombiano Ciencia y Arte in Spanish (20 chapters and 362 pages) in 2001.
Coach of 28 riders of the Colombian Paso equitation team in 2002 for the Fourth CONFEPASO Youth Mundial held in Medellín, Colombia.
IN THE UNITED STATES:
Director of Ocala’s School of Equestrian Art – Paso Horses in Ocala, Florida (USA), since 2003.
President and Judge of the American Trote and Trocha Association.
Clinician/judge at horse shows/events to promote Paso horses in the United States.
A coach of the USA Paso equitation team in 2006 for the Sixth CONFEPASO Youth Mundial held in Kissimmee, FL. (USA).
A coach of the USA Paso equitation team in 2008 for the Seventh CONFEPASO Youth Mundial held in Medellín, Colombia.
Adjunct teacher for the “Equine Studies” program in Central Florida College, Ocala, FL. 2011 – 2012.
Writer of dozens of articles about Paso horses for different international magazines.
Writer of the book Science and Art of the Paso Fino horse (18 chapters plus appendices, 330 pages, over 350 photos) in 2007.
