Hal Reames Jr

A clinical psychologist by training, the author began writing afer a three-month trip to China in 1999. He has since written fiction, nonfiction, and fictionalized stories under various names. "Amoung the Ravening Sharks--Mastering Fear in the Trading Pit" resulted from a friend's invitation to interview Nasdaq pit traders and spend a day (the day the .com bubble burst) on the trading floor as a clerk. Having come of age in a nation divided by racism and the Vietnam War, he remains concerned about our national divisions, particularly over racism ("The Great Divide") and wealth ("To Kill the Other Half"). His third historical novel, "Exile of Doubt," concerns religious fundamentalism. While it was in the works, he had an epiphany and wrote "Entangled--a journey through the unknowable." This election year found him interviewing Texans for "Yeller Dawgs--Texans who can't vote Republican in 2016." Father of three children and grandfather to four, he and his wife now split their time between Austin, Texas, and Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
