Alan Henson

Alan D. Henson was born in Anderson, Indiana in 1953. His parents came to Indiana from Tennessee seeking work like characters from a Steinbeck novel. He began writing at a young age and continued to write throughout his academic career. His experiences as an emergency room orderly, a prison guard and Union editor gave him unfiltered insights into the stark realities of the world. He is an artist, illustrator, photographer, journalist and award-winning cartoonist. He has been the recipient of the Local Union Press Association’s Award for Journalistic Excellence on several occasions. After retiring he wrote his first novel, “Demons Within”; a modern gothic fiction story about small town secrets and mysterious disappearances. His second novel, “Imperceptible”, is due out in December 2013.
