Joy Hoerner Rich

I am lucky enough to be the niece of Caldecott Award winning authors and illustrators Berta and Elmer Hader. As a child I couldn't wait for the next Hader book to arrive. Many were dedicated to me and my brother and sister. I grew up, became an educator, raised a family of four, became very involved in non-profits within my community -- but always wanted to do something to honor my talented aunt and uncle. Finally, with the help of my three co-authors, we have created BERTA AND ELMER HADER: A LIFETIME OF ART. I enjoyed the making of this book and plan to do more in the future.
