Guy T. Montgomery is a graduate of Wake Forest University, from which he received a degree in English Literature. While a student at Wake Forest, he had the opportunity to study with a number of writers, including Vona Groarke, Conor O’Callaghan, Dennis Sampson, and Eric Wilson. In 2012, he won the inaugural Winston-Salem Writers essay contest, with the essay subsequently appearing in 'Taking Flight: 2012.' In 2014, his first book-length work –'Ghosts of Old Salem, North Carolina'– was published by The History Press. He resides in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky with his wife, Genevieve, where he writes a column for Examiner.com about historic places in "The Derby City."
