David A. Hecker Ph.D.

David Hecker was born and raised on the prairies of North Dakota where he committed himself to becoming an educator. He holds a Ph.D. in American Studies and wrote his dissertation--John Steinbeck: America's Isaiah--as his first book length writing. His memoir, Full Circle: A Journey in Search of Roots, was published in 2012 and an historical novel, Strangers Before the Bench will be printed in late 2013 or early 2014. He has also published academic essays, book reviews, travel logs (including a four part series on China), and poems. Today David lives on an island in the Puget Sound of Washington State. He acclimated to this area after many years of hiking, down-hill skiing, mountain climbing and sailing.
