I've spent the better part of a lifetime analyzing the patterns of standardized exams like the LSAT, MCAT, GRE, and GMAT. My passion is teaching others the logical problem solving tools that you need in order to master these exams.

You'll find the fruits of my labors in my books - including the Barron's MCAT and Barron's LSAT (which is now republished in an expanded and updated form as the Cognella LSAT Roadmap.

I also am passionate about intuitive strategies for math problem solving. I've seen these strategies literally change people's lives! If you struggle with math, or just want to improve your math intuitions, please check out my book Intuitive Math - 100+ Power Strategies.

When I'm not working on problem solving, you may find me writing sci-fi and fantasy stories that touch the funny bone or the heart or both. My novels are Death by Haggis and Annie Gomez and the Gigantic Foot of Doom. I love writing short stories as well. You can even hear me performing some of them on my Zoom show Desert Home Companion (available on Youtube.)

When I'm not writing stories, I'm probably our working in my yard, taking care of dozens of fruit trees. And when I'm not doing that, you may find me playing the accordion on a street corner in a Romanian village, in a plaza in Prague, or on a bench in a Polish village.
