Michael Weiss

Michael Weiss served seven years as a spokesman officer assigned to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Spokesman's Office at the time of the first Intifada-- the Palestinian rebellion of popular resistance, in Gaza, from 1987 through 1993. During those years, when called up to Reserve Duty, Michael would drive from the high class, green grass suburb of Raanana, Israel, to the mud infested pits of poverty-stricken Gaza, Palestine.

From heaven to hell. To hell and back.

The idea, the characters, the plot all evolved on the road, after each day of Reserve Duty. There in Gaza Michael witnessed the revolting scenes of horror and terror, but also the compassion and dream to be free, to be liberated. The story was born in Gaza. Over the years many chapters of war and bloodshed have spilled out from Gaza. The Bomb on the Rock will tell a yet untold chapter...
