Barbara Nachman

Barbara Nachman has been a writer ever since she could hold a pencil, though not everyone appreciated her scribbles. She was a journalist and staff writer for nearly 30 years, most of which was spent at The Journal News, a Gannett newspaper headquartered in White Plains, N.Y. After accepting an early-retirement buyout, Barbara was an adjunct professor at Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y.

Barbara is the author of the fast-paced "Who-Done-It? Who-Wore-It" mystery series, which includes, "Catwalk Killer," "Stone Cold Chic," "Mannequin Murders," and "Knocked Off." The books follow sleuthenista Bonnie Nash, fashion editor at Chic Chick magazine, as she investigates and solves murders in the fashion world. But don't worry, she finds plenty of time for shopping and romance.

Barbara is also the author of "Sylvie Shine: Senior Sleuth," and "Editor of the Year," which is a newspaper tale for the Internet Age.

Barbara wrote "Sylvie Shine" to entertain and empower seniors. Sylvie is a modern-day Miss Marple and the book is a classic whodunit murder mystery with a twist. Underneath the action — and there's lots of action — is the message: The wisdom of age should be valued as highly as the beauty of youth.
