Lianne Aquilina

Lianne Aquilina's style of practice is traditional Chinese medical acupuncture. In 2005, the Faculty of Health, Life and Social Sciences of the University of Lincoln, awarded her the Dean's prize for Studies in Health. She completed further training at the Guangdong Province Second Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. It was here where she observed an authentic and effective combination of traditional Chinese and medical strategies in the clinical management of disease; she developed these insights for her patients undergoing IVF and assisted reproduction.

She is a BSc (Hons) acupuncture clinical supervisor. Her role includes teaching third year acupuncture students the application of classical and traditional Chinese medicine principles along with the clinical utility of Chinese acupuncture. In addition, she assesses theoretical and clinical competency as well as supporting learning outcomes by reviewing learning journals and reflective practice. She is a visiting MSc and BSc guest lecturer, on the use of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture in the treatment and management of infertility and IVF.

Lianne Aquilina's approach to the contemporary management of subfertile patients is the provision and integration of fertility acupuncture treatment; based on applied classical Chinese philosophy and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) concepts of reproductive health and fertility.

Lianne's interests include education, culture, arts and Asian medicine. She is also an Ayurveda therapist. She is the principle acupuncturist at Aquilia Acupuncture | Aquilia Fertility | Scotgate Mews, Stamford, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom. Lianne Aquilina is also an Educational Online Acupuncture for Reproductive Health Group Facilitator for qualified acupuncturists.

Professional memberships include the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC), The Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture (ATCM), Ayurveda Practitioner Association (APA), Associate Forum Member of Classical Chinese Medicine, American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), British Fertility Society (BFS).
