Deb Elliott

Books have been a major part of my life since I first learned to read; the wonder of exploring others' worlds and thoughts is an enduring fascination for me. After college, I got married like you were supposed to back then and taught English in rural NE. Then divorce hit me. About that time the itch to write fiction made itself known but fizzled due to career pressures -- being a teacher is a big job, especially when you're first starting out. And recovering from divorce is a major undertaking as many of us know.

Not long after, I got tired of being broke all the time and decided to transfer my skills to the business world and me to Minnesota.

Things like earning a living and making a life take a lot of time -- pursuing an advanced education (M.Ed.), owning and maintaining a home and a corporate career.

A couple of years back, I decided against getting a Ph.D. and pursued my lifelong and long-delayed dream of writing and publishing a fantasy novel. I've never looked back.

My first novel was a "swords and horses" fantasy - now moldering in the folders on my backup drive. It'll be revised when the first flush of DJ is out of my system; it's the first of a trilogy full of man-eating monsters and humans who turn into dragons.

I'm now at the end of a long career as an instructional designer which means that I've spent the last couple of decades plus writing nearly every day when I wasn't in the classroom teaching. And I'm loving the prospect of writing more books, poems and short stories. I hope you'll come along for the ride.

Blessings, peace, comfort and love to you!
