Jonathan Watts

Growing up in the English county of North Yorkshire, Jonathan Watts was fascinated by mythology from a very early age. This led to him studying Classics at Newcastle University.

Always an avid reader, at the age of 13 Jonathan picked up his first David Gemmell novel in an airport while travelling to New York. The characters, action and emotion all resonated with Jonathan in a way that no previous author had, and from then on it became his dream to be a published novelist.

Over fifteen intensive years of work followed, and led to success with Bury Me Where They Fall – a dark, surreal book marrying his interest in folklore and mythology into a nightmarish “Apocalypse Now”-inspired narrative. Jonathan currently resides in Bristol, where he spends his time working as a copywriter, reading books and watching every live band he can manage.
