ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ian Tremblay is an indie author and poet who currently works in the entertainment business. He studied English Literature and has published two four story collections, Tales of Inhumanity and Retribution and Tales of Duplicity and Discontent, as well as a novel, The Illegal and the Refugee-An American Love Story. He is a world traveler, fishing aficionado and music enthusiast.

Some of the individual stories of his first two books are in the process of being made available in paperback and on all digital platforms. Aisha-A Tale of Retribution and The Death and Life of Gustav Henn are the first two and were published in 2015.

Rich Homeless Broken But Beautiful is the third and a novel and was published in 2016.

THE ILLEGAL AND THE REFUGEE – An American Love Story is the story of an illegal Mexican immigrant and a Cuban refugee, and of the dangerous journeys they undertake to reach the United States in the hope of finding a missing loved one and the dream of a better life. Constructed of tragedy and triumph, with roots set deep in Mexico and Cuba, this contemporary American romance is about letting go of the past, the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity and of deep, unconditional love.

Maria Torres is a bright university student from Mexico City and a committed social activist who becomes gravely concerned when Eduardo the love of her life decides to cross into the United States illegally and then vanishes from the face of the earth. She decides to retrace his footsteps and survives a treacherous and traumatic crossing of the Arizona desert, ending up in East Los Angeles, an illegal immigrant and desperate to find him.

In Havana, Cuba, Ernesto Rodriguez dreams of fleeing his hermetic and state controlled country for the United States with the love of his life Yaneti. He succeeds in sending her off first and then she is never heard from again. Determined to find out what happened to her, he barely survives a life-threatening sea crossing, washing up confused and half-naked on a Florida beach, legally a refugee, and frantic to find her.

AISHA - A Tale of Retribution is a story about poverty and beauty, opulence and misogyny, abuse and revenge, and of an unexpected form of triumph.

Aisha Sayuno is a bright and strikingly beautiful young girl whose only crime in life is to have been born poor in a country where poverty is rampant, and into a family of five girls. When she is not quite fourteen her father dies suddenly in a tragic working accident and from that moment on, she and her mother and sisters' situation goes from dire to desperate.

The money Aisha's mother makes working in a clothing factory is insufficient to take care of her and the five girls, and she quickly becomes frantic, and in their part of the world; frantic widows attract wicked predators of the worst kind, and those whose savage business it is, to trade in human misery. A man introduced to her by a co-worker, offers Aisha's mother money in exchange for the promise that when she is older, Aisha would be sent off to receive a religious education in the country and under the protection of Prince Abdul Khalid Mohamed Al-Turki, a distant and pious benefactor of young women from needy families.

Gustav Henn is a retired world renowned classical pianist who dies sitting in front of his television on Christmas Eve and whose skeletal remains are only discovered five years later. Michael Brenner, the police inspector who is assigned the case is intrigued by this unusual situation and is determined to find out how someone could have died in such anonymity and not have been missed by anyone for all that time. A dust covered diary that he finds besides Gustav Henn's remains lead him in the right direction.

RICH HOMELESS BROKEN BUT BEAUTIFUL, is young adult fiction and the story of Linda Staunton, a highly intelligent young woman, and an uncommon beauty with a large heart. Linda was brought up in bitter poverty by a determined, upright and caring single mother, who taught her the importance of family, kindness and of doing the right thing. She is sensitive, compassionate, open to others, as well as an inspiration for her family and the people around her. When at the pinnacle of her youth, tragedy strikes, she experiences more heartache and physical trauma before she is twenty-five than most people do in a lifetime. In the face of seemingly insurmountable odds, she discovers within herself a strength that she did not even know she had, and about the curative powers of the heart.
