Nick Brown

Nick Brown, OBE, is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and author of several acclaimed novels the first of which was Skendleby . Following degrees at Manchester and Leeds Universities he worked as an archaeologist, an experience that directly inspired both the 'Ancient Gramarye' and 'Luck Bringer' series. Between 1990 and 2009 he was the first principal of the nationally respected and hugely successful, Oldham 6th form college and served on committees advising the government on race, public disorder and extremism before taking up a full time career as a writer. The sometimes harrowing nature of these experiences are reflected in the writing.

Skendleby is currently being developed as a feature film, for which he co-wrote the script with his son Gaius.Skendleby, a British film produced by Alexa Waugh for Dr Rebekah Productions is scheduled for release in 2020 and filming will begin in England late spring 2019 with Hollywood director, Stephen David Brookes. The fifth and final book in the Ancient Gramarye series will be published in October 2019.

Alongside his Ancient Gramarye Series, is the ‘Luck Bringer’, novel cycle based on a lifetime's research and field work. It tells the story of the Persian Wars through the eyes of the Athenian men and women who saved democracy. THe third in the series, 'The Sacrifice of Athena, will be published in 2020.

Nick Brown is currently writing the first of two books on one of Britain's leading figurative/abstract artists, an exciting, new divergence from his usual work.
