JoAnn Saccato was born in Lake County, California and received her Bachelors and Masters degree through the Hutchins School of Liberal Studies at Sonoma State University. Her self-designed degree in Co-creating Sustainable Futures propelled her to start California's only cooperatively owned online ordering and distribution food system, Lake Co-op.
Ms. Saccato lived over 10 years in the oak woodlands of Lake County in "chop wood, carry water" fashion with her canine companion, Shyla, while earning her degrees and taking a spiritual pilgrimage in India. She writes about these experiences in her first book, Companioning the Sacred Journey, and intends to write more about her voluntary simplicity life and the spiritual journey in the coming months.
She is currently an educator, inspirational speaker, and personal and professional development coach in Northern California using techniques featured in her book.
