Joseph Lovece is author of The Steam Man of the West series of historical science fiction adventure stories. He is also editor and writer of the Dime Novel Cover series, which reproduces forgotten popular literature of the last two centuries. He was formerly editor of and reporter for trade newsletters including Military Robotics, Missile Defense Report, Defense Week, Defense Daily, Military Fiber Optics News, Substance Abuse Funding News and Mental Health Funding News; and magazines including Armed Forces Journal International,

Astronomy, Technology Review, and Unmanned Systems; and was publisher and editor of the Military Robotics Sourcebook and Mobile Robots and Unmanned Vehicles magazine. He was also publisher of the online Periscope Military Database.
