Maria Carvalho

Maria Carvalho’s love for words has always been as fervent as her fear of math. Her multi-genre short fiction has appeared in over thirty anthologies, including The Best of MetaStellar and several titles in Owl Hollow Press's Anthology Series. Her Pushcart Prize-nominated work has also been published in an array of literary magazines, including Roi Fainéant Press, MetaStellar, SciFanSat, 101 Words, and Free Flash Fiction. Maria’s poetry is featured in several #1 best-selling books from Literary Revelations Publishing House, where she is the writer in residence. Her popular children's book "Hamster in Space!" was praised by Kirkus Reviews for its "sharp understanding of kids' wacky sense of humor"—a testament to the fact that she’s still a kid at heart.

Maria lives in Connecticut, where she enjoys the outdoors, photography, reading, and subjecting her family to her puns. Find her on Twitter and Bluesky: @immcarvalho.
