Pam Dawling has been growing thousands, if not millions, of vegetables at Twin Oaks Community in central Virginia for over 30 years, where 3.5 acres feed the hundred members year-round. Pam's first book, Sustainable Market Farming: Intensive Vegetable Production on a Few Acres, (2013), has helped many small-scale farmers, avid gardeners and students of sustainable agriculture. Her much larger second edition (2025) is fully revised, with five added chapters and all full color photos. She also wrote The Year-Round Hoophouse (2018), from her ten years’ experience growing vegetables year-round in a high tunnel. Pam is a contributing editor with Growing for Market and writes for other grower magazines. She presents workshops at sustainable agriculture conferences and similar events and posts her presentations on Slideshare. Pam also does consultancy work for new and beginning farmers.
