Artist, Writer, Musician & DJ Shaun Patterson

I was born and raised in Southern Ontario, spending much of my early adult life in Toronto and London, where I met my wife, Christina. After living briefly in Ayr, Scotland, we eventually settled on Prince Edward Island, a place we have proudly called home for many years.

I hold a BFA in Art History from NSCAD University, an MBA from the University of Prince Edward Island, and an LLM (Master of Laws) from Osgoode Hall Law School.

As an artist, I work primarily in digital media, creating pieces that blend modern portraiture with historical and cultural motifs. I draw inspiration from textiles, decorative traditions, patterns, and ornamentation, visual languages through which cultures have expressed identity for centuries. My perspective is shaped in part by my family heritage, with roots in Malta, Singapore, and Britain. My work often explores how these historical aesthetics can be reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.

As a DJ, I dig the backbeat, the organ groove, the fuzz guitar, and the soulful shout, spinning Reggae, Hammond groove, Mod jazz, garage rock, Northern soul, psychedelia, '60s British Invasion, and bubblegum pop.

Collaborated with my wife, Christina, many times to write and illustrate several children's books. This creative partnership remains one of my most enjoyable projects.

Above all, I am a lifelong learner. I am happiest sitting in a comfortable chair with a strong black coffee, working my way through the latest stack of unread books.
