ROBERT GROGAN'S paintings have received attention in museum shows, gallery exhibits, and national competitions. His work has been included in the National Museum of Wildlife Art's Western Visions show in Jackson, Wyoming, the Charlie Russell miniature show in Helena, Montana, and the American Miniatures show in Tucson, Arizona. His paintings have appeared in Southwest Art, American Art Review, Mountain Living, Rendezvous, Boise Journal, and Sun Valley Magazine.
Robert is a painter who is well suited for plein air painting. His love of the outdoors and his deep appreciation for nature dictate that he spends hours with pochade box and panels, trying to capture the grace and beauty of a moment. Robert loves to share what he knows about art. He teaches week-long workshops several times a year in various locations around the country and abroad. He travels extensively in search of painting subjects.
Robert has been interested in wildlife photography since the early 70s when he lived and worked in Alaska. KALAHARI SUMMER IN PHOTOGRAPHS AND OILS, which combines his photos with his paintings, is his first book.
The paintings included in KALAHARI SUMMER IN PHOTOGRAPHS AND OILS will be exhibited by the William Humphreys Art Museum in Kimberley, South Africa, beginning in November 2014 and running through mid-January 2015.
