James Gale emigrated from England in 1957. He was initially employed as an Industrial Engineer in various manufacturing enterprises until assuming the position of Head of Dept. He then worked at a large computer manufacturer under different titles. Gale then became CEO of a metal stamping company in Kentucky. Later he became CEO of a similar company in Ohio until retirement in 1997.
Other than as an investor he has not had any affiliation with financial institutions. Initially, while employed, he became a 401k contributor and then moved his assets into Roth IRAs at retirement. At that time, he was also able to cash out his minority ownership in the company which he converted into taxable mutual funds. This enabled him to continue to enhance his portfolio (without redemptions)in Roth IRAs by investing in mutual funds with domestic and foreign stocks through most of 2009. By constant monitoring and frequent changes into better performing funds, he has been able to retain a substantial portfolio to this day. At the onslaught of recessions, a U-turn has to be made otherwise one can lose a significant portion of one's portfolio. Gale has managed to navigate these difficult times. He would like to share his experiences and successes with you.
