Betsy Streeter is an artist, cartoonist, writer, illustrator, animator and the creator of "Sloth and Manatee," the single-panel cartoon feature "Brainwaves," the Silverwood series of science fiction/fantasy novels, "Neptune Road," "Philo and May," and many other projects and collaborations big and small. She is a native of the San Francisco East Bay in Northern California, USA. One of her cartoons is taped to the cabinet in the office of Paul Giamatti's character in the movie San Andreas, starring The Rock. Another travels with the Smithsonian Astrophysics Observatory's exhibit on black holes. Her work has been described as "absurd" (cartoons), "kind and philosophic" (Sloth and Manatee), "fast-paced and imaginative" (Silverwood), "a unique brand of humor" (her neighbor Frank), and "peculiar and disruptive" (her brother).
