GARRETT GLASS is the author of the acclaimed Jehoshua series of historical fiction novels, based on the first century of Christianity. Book One of the Series, Jehoshua: Signs and Wonders, covers the first 25 years of Christianity. Glass, according to Kirkus Reviews, “skillfully fleshes out the characters and illustrates the theological issues without confusing the reader…well researched and highly informative.” Jehoshua: Signs and Wonders, was the first self- published book to be included in the prestigious Patheos Book Club sponsored by the editors of patheos.com, the world’s most-visited website devoted to religious matters. Book Two of the series, Jehoshua: Conflagration, details the next 25 years of Christianity, up to the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans. Book Three is currently being written, and chronicles the establishment of formal churches among the Christian communities, a development that solidified control over the Christian movement by men, and the forcible expulsion of women from an active role in the ministry.

In 2017, Glass issued a non-fiction book titled Who Cut God's Hair. This book reviews recent scientific advances in our understanding of where belief in God originates. From this work, and based on Glass's own research in fields like psychology and anthropology, Glass created a five-stage model describing how everyone, from infancy through childhood, develops a belief that there exists in this world creator figures who are all-knowing, all-present, all-loving, and all-powerful. These profound early experiences translate in adult life to a longing for a powerful creator figure to govern the universe and protect us in our daily lives. God-belief is therefore the default position of mankind, but Glass shows that no one is forced to believe or is genetically programmed to believe in God. There are alternative approaches, including atheism, spirituality, and humanism, that allow each of us to lead an ethical, productive, and charitable life. In the latter part of Who Cut God's Hair, Glass explores these alternative approaches to God-belief and religious practices.

In April, 2018, the Independent Publisher Book Awards announced that Who Cut God's Hair was the winner of the Bronze Medal for outstanding work in the field of Religion. The IPPY Awards, as they are known, are the most prestigious publishing awards for books issued by small publishing firms, university presses, or by the authors themselves. Of over 6,000 entrants for these awards, submitted from all around the world, only several hundred were given any recognition, and of these, only a small number were self-published. Who Cut God's Hair was among that number, with the awards committee acknowledging it as a book meeting professional standards, with writing that was both creative and innovative.
