Susan Kay-Williams

My research interest is the history of how colour was discovered, made and used in textiles. However, my day job for 17 years has been as Chief Executive of the Royal School of Needlework. During lockdown I researched and wrote the history of the school which celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2022. Then in our 151st year we were honoured to produce nine pieces for the coronation so a new edition of the book was produced to include our coronation work. In 2017 the RSN launched the RSN Stitch Bank and the new book takes some 200 stitches from that wonderful resources for easy reference.
